Dyeing equipment in Outlands follows specific rules to prevent accidental changes to rare hues. When players attempt to dye all of their worn equipment simultaneously using a Dye Tub (by targeting themselves), the process will automatically cancel if any of the worn items have a rare hue. Players will receive a message informing them that they must manually dye those items one by one.
Additionally, any time a player tries to use a Dye Tub to override an item with a rare hue, they must perform the action twice to confirm their decision. Players will receive an on-screen prompt indicating that they need to repeat the action before the change takes effect.
When using Special Dye Items—such as Runebook Dye, Carpet Dye, Furniture Dye, etc., players must also confirm their selection by performing the action twice. These special dye items are single-use, meaning they are consumed upon application.
To dye a backpack, players must now target themselves, similar to how Hair Dye and Facial Hair Dye function. Furthermore, basic clothing dyes have been improved to be stackable, making it easier to manage multiple dye applications.
Unique Dye Types
Various items in Outlands can be customized using different types of dyes. Each dye type applies to specific items, allowing for greater customization. All crafted dyes require 120 skill in their respective crafting professions.
