This page details the significant updates to Ships, including new ship types, abilities, mechanics, and related systems introduced with the Wildlands Expansion (May 19, 2024).

New Ship Sizes

Longship

  • New ship type featuring 4 Cannons and 8 Crewmember Slots.
  • Base Hull Hit Points: 6,000
  • Base Speed: 3.846 Tiles/Sec
  • Registration Cost: 500,000 Doubloons
  • Upgrade Cost Multiplier: 6x
  • Craftable by players; also encountered as NPC ships.

Ship of the Line

  • New ship type featuring 7 Cannons and 7 Crewmember Slots.
  • Base Hull Hit Points: 7,000
  • Base Speed: 3.517 Tiles/Sec
  • Registration Cost: 750,000 Doubloons
  • Upgrade Cost Multiplier: 7x
  • Craftable by players; also encountered as NPC ships.

Ship Menus

  • Ship Menus and Ship Hotbars have received a design overhaul for streamlining and added functionality.
  • Increased size of Ship Menu for clarity.
  • Page types restructured; Players Page removed.
  • Hit Points now show percentages. Sail/Gun HP display Red when boardable.
  • Abilities Hotbar has dedicated Ship Repair Kit button showing cooldown.
  • Navigation Hotbar adds Inspect Ship and Use Boarding Rope buttons.
  • Cannon Button now Reloads if cannons are empty.

Crew Page

  • Redesigned for reduced clutter.

Appearance Page

  • Ship Upgrades affecting appearance are now managed here. Future appearance features planned.

Auxiliary Abilities

  • Ships now have two Auxiliary Ability slots.
  • Any Lesser, Regular, or Greater Ability can be installed, provided it's not already present on the ship (no duplicates).

Using Auxiliary Abilities

  • Activated via Ship Menu, Ship Hotbar, or commands:
    • `[AuxiliaryAbility` (Slot 1)
    • `[SecondAuxiliaryAbility` (Slot 2)

Auxiliary Ability Cooldowns

  • Activating an Auxiliary Ability triggers a cooldown before another Auxiliary Ability can be used.
  • Cooldown duration matches the unmodified, default cooldown for that Ability Type (Lesser, Regular, Greater).
  • Bonuses reducing ability cooldowns do not affect Auxiliary Ability cooldowns.
  • Example: Activating "Beat to Quarters" (Regular Ability, 3 min default cooldown) triggers a 3-minute cooldown for all Auxiliary Abilities.

Ability Cooldowns

Default Ability Cooldowns updated:

  • Lesser Ability: 2 Minutes (no change)
  • Regular Ability: 3 Minutes (was 4 minutes)
  • Greater Ability: 4 Minutes (was 6 minutes)

Repair Cooldowns

  • Base Repair Cooldown for ships in combat is now 3 minutes (was 5 minutes).

Ship Cannon Damage

  • Player damage bonuses not specifically mentioning "Cannon Damage" will not increase Ship Cannon damage against creatures.

Experience

  • Experience from earning Doubloons is now 1-to-1 (was sometimes 1-to-2).
  • Players now earn Aspect Experience and Redline Experience based on earning Doubloons from sinking NPC ships.

Ship Stats

  • Base Sail Hit Points and Gun Hit Points are now baselined at 90% of Hull Hit Points.
  • NPC Ships receive +25% Overall Hit Points (Paragons get additional +50%).

Cannon Ammunition Capacity

  • Ship Cannons now hold 5 Ammunition (was 10).

Boarding Attempts

  • Target ship's Sail or Gun HP must be at 33% or below (displays Red).
  • Boarding Cooldown is now 15 seconds (was 20).

Breach / Bravery

  • Breach stat renamed to Bravery.
  • No longer provides Armor Ignore.
  • Now provides a Damage Bonus to Crewmembers against Creatures on the same ship or against Boss/Boss Minions.

Hold Capacity / Tidings

  • Hold Capacity stat renamed to Tidings.
  • No longer increases Hold capacity.
  • Now provides a bonus chance to encounter unique loot unaffected by normal Loot Drop bonuses (e.g., Ship Antiquities, Upgrade Deeds, Contracts, Pirate Booty).
  • Existing Hold Capacity values rescaled to reflect the change.

Wake Scalar

  • Minimum Wake Scalar is now 25%.
  • Base Wake Scalars updated:
    • Small: 50% (was 100%)
    • Medium: 75% (was 125%)
    • Large: 100% (was 150%)
    • Carrack: 150% (was 175%)
    • Galleon: 200% (no change)
    • Longship: 200% (New)
    • Ship of the Line: 250% (New)

Spyglasses

  • Base Search Range (Ships/Fishing Spots) is now 100 (was 75).
  • Search Range for Player Ships reduced to 33% of normal.
  • Minimum Search Range is now 30 (was 50).
  • Search results now ordered by distance (closest first).
  • Search Range Bonuses from Spyglasses updated:
    • Exceptional Quality: +10%
    • Mastercrafted: +10%
    • Iron: +0%
    • Dull Copper: +5%
    • Shadowiron: +10%
    • Copper: +15%
    • Bronze: +20%
    • Gold: +25%
    • Agapite: +30%
    • Verite: +35%
    • Valorite: +40%
    • Avarite: +45%

Ship Access Levels

  • Players Page removed from Ship Menu. Manual Friend/Co-Owner designation removed.
  • Access Levels (for Holds, Spyglass Tracking) automatically assigned:
    • Co-Owners: Same Party OR same Guild as Captain.
    • Friends: Same Alliance as Captain.
