The Hiding skill allows players to become invisible indefinitely, provided they meet specific conditions. It is a key skill for stealth-based gameplay and is required for movement while hidden using the Stealth skill.
- Players must be out of sight and a good distance away from creatures or players to hide successfully.
- Turning a corner and immediately using Hiding is an effective method.
- Hiding skill cannot be raised inside a house where the player is at least friended, as Hiding always succeeds there.
- The chance to hide successfully is equal to the skill level. For example, 50 skill = 50% success chance
- Players who are Friended to a house receive an effective bonus of 100 Hiding skill for attempts inside that house.
- Players within 1 tile of a house but not inside receive an effective bonus of 50 Hiding skill.
- Required for the Stealth skill, enabling movement while hidden.
- Can be paired with Stealth to perform Backstab attacks on creatures.
Anti-Reveal Mechanics
- Players revealed via Detecting Hidden or the Reveal Spell cannot use Hiding or Invisibility for 5 seconds.
- Players who are revealed cannot Eject from a house for 5 seconds.
- Players revealed by a creature ability are prevented from using Hiding or Invisibility for 10 seconds.
- Some higher-level creatures may have longer prevention durations.
