The Fencing skill allows players to wield fast-striking weapons, making it effective in both PvM and PvP.
Mechanics
All Fencing weapons, including two-handed weapons such as spears, can be poisoned using the Poisoning skill.
The chance to hit with a Fencing weapon is calculated as:
(attacker's fencing skill + 50) / ((defender's weapon or wrestling skill + 50) * 2) + accuracy bonuses
As a secondary weapon skill, Fencing:
- Increases Base Weapon Damage by
(25% * Skill / 100)
in PvM. - Increases Base Weapon Damage by
(10% * Skill / 100)
in PvP.
PvM Special Attack
- Only works against creatures, not players.
- Players have a 10% chance of inflicting a Fencing Weapon Special Attack against creatures.
- The chance can be increased via:
- Arms Lore
- Water Aspect Armor
- Mastery Chain Links
Effects of Fencing Weapon Specials
- Applies a stackable 8% Cripple Effect (max effect of 24%).
- Increases Damage Bonus by:
25% + Player's To Hit Chance % Against Creature
Capped at 100% chance to hit. The hit chance percentage is calculated after applying the Cripple effect.
- Reduces target's Defense (chance to avoid melee hits).
- Increases Damage taken from:
- Melee-inflicted Poison (from players or creatures).
- Any form of Disease Damage.
Example: If an 8% Cripple Effect is applied to a creature:
- Attackers with a 50% chance to hit will now have a 58% chance to hit.
- Any Poison applied through melee attacks (by players or followers) will deal 8% more Poison Tick Damage.
- Any Disease Damage against the target will increase by 8%.
Fencing Weapons
Fencing-class weapons are crafted using Blacksmithy or purchased from NPC vendors.
Codex
Fencing weapons benefit from Stances and Finishers provided by a Codex of Fencing:
