The Hamstring ability allows players to temporarily hinder their target’s mobility in both PvM and PvP. Players can attempt Hamstring attacks when using Fencing, Macing, Swords, or Wrestling weapons. Wrestling without weapons is also a valid option, but Archery weapons cannot be used for Hamstring attempts.

Hamstring Requirements

To attempt a Hamstring attack, a player must have at least two of the following skills at 80 or higher:

  • Anatomy
  • Arms Lore
  • Chivalry
  • Forensic Evaluation
  • Tracking
  • Wrestling

Additionally, players with multiple valid weapon skills may unlock extra bonuses and the ability to apply Hamstring in combat.

Secondary Weapon Skills

Players with more than one valid weapon skill at 80 or higher can benefit from additional combat bonuses and may qualify for Hamstring.

PvM Bonuses

Players with at least two of the following weapon skills can make Hamstring attempts against creatures:

  • Archery
  • Fencing
  • Fishing
  • Macing
  • Swords
  • Wrestling

PvP Bonuses

Players with at least two of the following weapon skills can make Hamstring attempts against other players:

  • Archery
  • Fencing
  • Macing
  • Swords

Accessing Hamstring

Hamstring is an independent effect and does not automatically occur on Disarm attempts. Players can activate Hamstring using the client’s "Stun" hotkey, by typing [Hamstring, or by configuring it in the Paperdoll → Help → Commands → Mechanics tab.

Players can also use [HamstringUntoggleMode to adjust automatic toggle settings for the ability.

Hamstring Attempts

Similar to Disarm attempts, Hamstring attacks have their own cooldowns and mechanics. If a player misses an attack while Hamstring is toggled, they must wait 15 seconds before attempting another. Unlike Disarm, both abilities can be applied to the same target simultaneously.

On a successful Hamstring hit, the attacker must wait between 30 and 53 seconds (depending on their Dexterity, from 100 to 25 DEX) before attempting another Hamstring on any target. Additionally, once affected, a player or creature cannot be hamstrung again for 30 seconds.

Hamstring Effects

PvM

When a creature is hit with a Hamstring effect, they become Entangled for 6 seconds. During this time, the creature cannot move, but it may still attack, cast spells, and use abilities.

If a player is hit with a Hamstring effect by a creature, the entanglement lasts for only 2 seconds.

PvP

When a player is hit by a Hamstring attack, their Stamina is reduced to 0 for 3 seconds, forcing them to walk. After 3 seconds, their stamina will automatically restore to its previous level.
