Locations
There are three potential Castle Siege locations, with the towns of Andaria, Cambria, and Prevalia each containing a castle that may be selected for the event.
Participation
To participate in a Castle Siege, players must have "Participate in PvP Events" toggled on in their Guild Menu's Overview Page. Players can then become a participant by:
- Entering the Castle Interior.
- Attacking the Castle Gate.
- Performing construction on a Siege Cannon.
- Double-clicking a Siege Flag within 24 tiles.
Only players in a guild with PvP participation enabled can join the event.
Zones and Flagging
The Castle Siege area consists of two main regions:
The Castle Interior
The Castle Interior is considered a Grey Zone, meaning all players can attack each other freely regardless of guild affiliation. While inside:
- Participants flag Green to members of their own guild or alliance (if they are also participants).
- Participants flag Orange to all other guilds’ participants.
- All other players are Grey to each other.
Surrounding Town Region
Flagging mechanics within the Town Region operate normally until a player participates in the Castle Siege, at which point they become attackable by all other Siege participants.
- Murderers may participate and enter the siege area.
- Murderers will flag as blue to others (unless criminal) until they attack the gate or enter the courtyard.
- After a Castle Siege ends, Murderers have a 15-minute grace period to leave before being subject to town guard rules.
- Non-participants flag as Blue to participants and cannot interfere with them.
Castle Mechanics
Castle Access
- If a castle's Gate is intact, non-defending players cannot enter, Recall, Gate, or Hike inside.
- The defending guild (winner of the last Castle Siege at that location) can enter freely at any time.
- Defenders can use the castle gate to teleport in and out.
Castle Gate
- The Castle Gate has 10,000 HP and can only be damaged by melee attacks or Siege Cannons.
- Melee attacks against the gate deal 25-50 damage per hit.
- When the gate is destroyed, all players gain access to the Castle Interior.
Siege Cannons
- A Siege Cannon appears outside the Castle Gate when the event starts.
- Players must construct the cannon using Siege Tools (crafted via Tinkering).
- Each construction action consumes 1 charge and adds 50-100 HP to the cannon.
- The cannon becomes Operational at 10,000 HP and can be fired every 10 seconds, dealing 1,000-2,000 damage to the Castle Gate.
- When the Castle Gate is destroyed, the Siege Cannon becomes inoperable.
Siege Mortars
- Three Siege Mortars appear inside the Castle Interior for defenders.
- Mortars must be constructed using Siege Tools (requires 1,000 HP to complete).
- Once operational, defenders can fire them every 10 seconds at targets up to 20 tiles away, dealing 20-40 damage per hit.
- Mortar fire does not require line-of-sight and can scatter up to 2 tiles from the target.
Sigil Statue
- A Sigil Statue appears at a randomized location inside the castle.
- Guilds earn Control Points by keeping members within 10 tiles of the statue during Control Checks.
Scoring
Guild Scoring
- Every 30 seconds, a Control Check occurs at the Sigil Statue.
- The defending guild earns 10 Control Points per check.
- Other guilds earn 30 Control Points per check.
- Guilds also earn 2% of all damage dealt to the Castle Gate as Control Points.
Player Scoring
- Individual players earn Control Points by occupying the Sigil Statue or damaging the Castle Gate.
- Players receive Control Points equal to the guild’s earned points divided among members present.
- Individual scores do not determine event winners but contribute to personal rewards.
Player Kills and Point Stealing
- Killing an enemy participant steals 5% of their guild’s total points.
- If a guild has 0 points, no points can be stolen.
- The player dealing the most damage to a target receives credit for the kill.
- Individual players earn Kill Points based on their % damage dealt to the killed target.
Rewards
At the end of the event, the Top 3 Guilds receive rewards. Additionally, the Top 10 players from each winning guild receive individual rewards based on Player Total Score (Control Points + Kill Points).
1st Place Guild
- Earns 2 Prestige Points.
- Top 10 players receive 3 Guild Reward Points.
- Top 10 players receive 1% of all gold spent at NPC Vendors in the last 24 hours (deposited in bank).
- A Reward Chest (equivalent to a Level 4 Treasure Map Chest) spawns inside the castle for the winning guild.
2nd Place Guild
- Earns 1 Prestige Point.
- Top 10 players receive 2 Guild Reward Points.
3rd Place Guild
- Earns 1 Prestige Point.
- Top 10 players receive 1 Guild Reward Point.
Post-Event
- When the event ends, all non-winning players inside the castle are ejected.
- The Castle Gate is fully restored.
- The winning guild is now the Castle Defender for the next event at this location.
