Paintings

Players will come across unique and rare Paintings in Outlands through a handful of different systems. The most likely source of Paintings will be as loot from Trade Caravans, though they will also very rarely appear as normal loot in other systems that generate rare items.

Painting Frames

Paintings come in three sizes, each corresponding to a different rarity: Portrait (Common), Landscape (Uncommon), and Large (Rare). Each size has three different types of frames available: Thin, Textured, and Deluxe.

Players can use the Carpentry skill to craft Painting Frames, which can then be placed in a house and positioned using the Interior Decorator tools to align them with a Painting. Additionally, Painting Frames can be dyed using Furniture Dye to match a player's preferred aesthetic.

Antiquities and Registering Paintings

Paintings are considered Antiquities, and three new Antiquity categories have been introduced: Portrait Paintings, Landscape Paintings, and Large Paintings. Players can register Paintings using an Antiquity Manifest, which can be crafted with Inscription. This functions similarly to how other Antiquities are registered and claimed.

Through the Antiquity Manifest, players can navigate through different Painting categories, view all available Paintings, and see how many players have registered each one. The system also records the first player on the server to register each Painting, offering a prestigious distinction for collectors. Additionally, players can track their own registered Paintings and work towards completing their collection.

Registering Paintings also grants Achievement Points, similar to other Antiquities, encouraging players to seek out and collect as many different Paintings as possible.
